National UK Case Studies
To demonstrate ways in which ICT and selected Internet resources can be incorporated into science teaching, a number of case studies have been selected to illustrate the practical teaching and learning activities used by others. How Applied GCSE Increases Motivation and Interest in Science
A secondary school carried out a case study to establish how the introduction of the AQA's Applied Science increased student's motivation and interest. Interviews and questionnaires were used to gather feedback from students with an aim of gaining insight into the students' interest levels in the subject and also their self esteem and confidence. Using Multimedia Science School software – the ‘States of Matter’ slideshow
The students involved in this study were a Year 10 group, consisting of some low achieving students and a number of students new to English. The task was to use animated slideshow to learn how particles behave during the changes of state between solid, liquid and gas. If you would like to add your own case study to this section you can email the details to starscience@londonmet.ac.uk and it will be added to the site. |
