File formats
To view certain features on some of the external resources found on this site you may need to install a plug-in/player which will allow you to view the content either through your internet browser or on your computer. Most of the external resources will inform you as to which plug-in/players you will need and it is quite easy to download the necessary plug-in/player for free. The following is a typical list of plug-in/players you may need for some of the external resources.

  Macromedia Flash Player
Macromedia Shockwave Player
Needed for viewing animation or movies.

PDF (Adobe portable document format)

You will need Adobe Reader to view any documents in a PDF format (this format is commonly used on the web)

Quick Time

Quick Time is sometimes used to display multimedia (audio/video)

WinZip
StuffIt

Zip files are usually large files that have been compressed so they are faster to download. These files will need to be 'unzipped' before the content can be viewed. You can download free software to unzip the files.
Web Browser
This site is best viewed using Internet Explorer 5 and over. This can be downloaded for free from Microsoft's web site.

External Links
This site is not responsible for external links and whilst every effort is made to make sure the link is accurate and relevant, it is beyond our control if external links are removed or changed.

Favourites/Bookmarks
If you come across a site, which you know you want to return to at a later date, you can automatically add this site to your 'Favourites' or 'Bookmark' option in your browser. This is useful in keeping a record of the sites you wish to return to at a later date without having to write down URLs (web addresses) which are easily lost.

Refresh/Reload
Your browser will cache information from web sites, this means that if new information has been added to the site since your last visit, you may not be seeing it. To avoid this from happening, you can click on the refresh button on your browser menu which will display the latest content.

Find
Using the find option can be very helpful to identify relevant content in a very wordy document or web site. The find option is usually found under Edit from browser menu and then Find (on this page).
